Crunch
Crisp crackling of
Autumn.
The time of the year
where goblins, witches,
and werewolves galore
come out at night to
play under the shining moon
Red, orange, and brown
leaf-covered driveways
the chill of the afternoon air
Cold toes and a stuffy nose
Breath coming out in
big white puffs
Shivering under the blankets
hot cocoa warming fingertips
Candy-filled bags
and stuffed turkeys
Sleeping with the heater
on 87 degrees
Huddling together
to get back that warmth
that we lost when the
beautiful seasons changed once again
