Once upon a time, in a kingdom far far away, there lived a beautiful princess.
This princess had the most gorgeous eyes anybody had ever seen!
They were blue and green, with little flecks of gold here and there.
She knew that they were beautiful, and bragged about them so.
The princess would brag and brag and brag for hours at end about her beautiful eyes.
It was the night of her birthday when a witch was passing through the village.
She heard the princess's voice all the way down from the castle, and she scowled.
" Someone who takes too much pride in themselves should have what they value most taken. "
She asked to see the princess's beautiful eyes that she'd heard about all the way from her home town.
The king and queen were so pleased with it, that they let her do so.
When the birth day party was over, the old witch was aloud to talk to her.
" Oh, why little princess, you have such beautiful eyes! It really is true! "
The princess's face lit up with joy.
" Aren't they? I have people from all over the kingdom come and look at my eyes. They really are a novelty. "
The witch tilted her head in mock confusion.
" But princess, don't you know the old tale? "
Said maiden frowned and shook her blonde head.
" No, witch, I do not. Might you spare me a bit? "
The old hag nodded and grinned evilly.
" Those who brag, will be stolen form. Stolen from them will be what they brag about. Pride is a Deadly Sin, girl, and now you're going to pay for it. "
The old witch waved her crinkly hans and said an ominous spell, and suddenly, the princess couldn't see.
" Oh, woe is me! I cannot see! What have you done, old hag? " She shreaked, feeling at her face.
The witch cackled darkly and replied, " I have perminantly shut your eyes, young sinner, so you cannot brag about your eyes anymore! "
The old witch poofed, leaving the young princess crying in her bed chambers.
The beautiful little princess, with the gorgeous eyes, never bragged about them again.
