Hero.
The word which we use much too leniently.
Meaning savior, life-saver, someone important.
We use it for many things; friends, joking, having a laugh.
It seems as though we have forgotten the true meaning.
The meaning of saving lives.
You remember the day 2 wonderful towers were destroyed.
All the people who tried to save the lives of over 3,000.
Those people fought for your lives. Your lives.
They risk their own lives to save yours.
You should be thankful of them.
Each and every officer, fireman, navy seal, military officer.
All of those men and women, every single day, are true heroes.
Saviors, life savers.
Protectors, love-givers.
Risk-takers, rescuers.
Save a life, become a hero.

7 years ago today, two hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, New York.
Over three thousand people died that day, including the people who tried to save them. That same day, another pane crashed into the Pentagon. One more plane crashed-landed in a Pennsylvania field, and was supposedly headed to the White House in Washington D.C. Those planes were hijacked by terrorists, planning to disgrace our country by hitting us where we would least expect it. I made this poem during our journal in 2nd period today. At first I wasn't looking for anything nice, but after a few minutes I really got into it and this came out. I'm proud of it and if you don't like it, I don't care. Today is a day for remembrance, love, and sorrow. I thank you for your service, and helping, trying your best to save those souls who were caught up in the whole mess. Thank you. No one deserves to die, but it happens. ~Ash |
